Who is Jesus?
Jesus. That name might sound familiar, but who exactly is He, and what did He do? Let’s keep it simple - He’s the most important person who ever walked the earth, and the story of His life and death is a love story for you.
Jesus is God’s Son. He was sent into the world for one big reason: to fix the broken relationship between us and God. You see, the Bible says we all have sin in our lives (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God, but God didn’t want that separation to be the end of our story. He loves us too much to leave us like that.
So, God sent Jesus. He lived a perfect, sinless life (something we could never do) and then took the punishment for our sins by dying on a cross. That’s what the cross represents: God’s deep love for you. Jesus died so that you and I wouldn’t have to be separated from God anymore (1 Peter 2:24). It’s not just about what happened on that cross, though; three days later, Jesus rose from the dead! He defeated death itself, proving that He has the power to give us eternal life (John 11:25).
It’s really that simple. Jesus loves you and wants to be in a relationship with you. You don’t have to “earn” His love - it’s a gift. He’s inviting you to accept it.
If this is something that touches your heart and you want to start a relationship with Jesus, you can pray a simple prayer. It’s not the words that save you, but the faith in your heart.
A Simple Prayer of Salvation:
"Jesus, I know I need you. I recognize that I have sinned, and I believe that you died for my sins and rose again. I ask you to forgive me, to come into my life, and to be my Savior and my Lord. I trust you, and I want to follow you from this day forward. Amen."
What Happens Now?
Life After Accepting Jesus
Welcome to the beginning of a beautiful journey! Now that you’ve given your life to Jesus, what’s next? This is where your walk with Him truly begins, and it’s important to grow, stay connected, and stay strong in your faith. Here are a few key steps to keep moving forward and avoid falling back into old habits.
2. Immerse Yourself in God’s Word
Start reading the Bible regularly to grow spiritually. God’s Word is your guide for life (Psalm 119:105). A good place to begin is the Gospel of John to learn more about Jesus’ heart and love for you.
3. Prayer is Your Lifeline
Prayer isn’t just talking to God; it’s building a relationship with Him. Spend time each day in prayer, whether sharing your worries or simply thanking Him. Prayer helps you stay focused on God and strengthens your spirit.
4. Join a Discipleship Group or Bible Study
Learning from others who are also following Jesus is powerful. Being around mature believers helps you grow in wisdom and provides accountability in your walk with God (Hebrews 10:24-25).
5. Get Baptized
If you haven’t already, consider getting baptized as a public declaration of your faith (Matthew 28:19). It symbolizes your old life being washed away and stepping into new life in Christ.
6. Guard Your Heart and Mind
There will be temptations along the way, but God gives you the strength to resist (1 Corinthians 10:13). Avoid influences that pull you away from Jesus and fill your mind with what is good, pure, and uplifting (Philippians 4:8).
7. Stay Accountable
Join or create an accountability relationship with another believer to stay grounded. Groups or mentors help you process life’s challenges, celebrate victories, and ensure you're not walking the journey alone
Your life in Christ will be an adventure filled with joy, challenges, and growth. Stay connected, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and remember: God is always with you every step of the way (Isaiah 41:10). If you ever feel lost or unsure, don’t hesitate to reach out - we are here to walk this road with you.
